Special Prosecutor To Look Into Locker Room Hazing Incident

POSTED: 12:20 pm EDT October 17, 2007

A special prosecutor is looking into a hazing incident in a Tallmadge High School locker room.

The attorney general's office will take over the case involving several football players.

Robert Underwood Jr., 16, has been charged with a felony count of delinquency by rape and a misdemeanor count of delinquency by hazing.

Sean E. Kline, 17, was charged with a felony count of delinquency by complicity to commit rape and a misdemeanor count of delinquency by hazing.

Four other players were charged with misdemeanors.

The charges stem from a hazing incident that allegedly took place during a football practice in August.

Summit County prosecutors requested the special prosecutor because the son of a county assistant prosecutor is a member of the football team and could be a potential witness.

All players were suspended from school and the team.
