Moen Makes Faucets For Seniors

When it comes to marketing, it's not all about young people.

In NewsChannel5's "Successful Aging" report, a local company is focusing on older consumers.

The business, Moen, considers the growing population of seniors when it designs its products.

Their faucets are one example.

"We've learned through the design of faucets with larger levers and designing for that segment of the population how to design a product that was really better for everyone to use by focusing on older individuals with limited abilities," said Chris Gilbert, Senior Industrial Designer.

And it's not always about high-tech designs.

Little things like open ring towel holders and pivoting paper holders can make a difference to someone with limited functions.

The Cleveland Foundation's Successful Aging program works to improve services for people who are growing older.
