CLEVELAND -- An important part of aging successfully is remaining active not only physically, but mentally, according to this week's Successful Aging report.
At Cuyahoga Community College, senior educational programs have been offered for the past 28 years.
"The concept of lifelong learning at Tri-C is that learning is a continuous process that never stops," said Janice M. Dzigil of the Center for Applied Gerontology.
Dr. Harry Fey, a Tri-C student, said: "I think that my enthusiasm for going to class here is that you can just go on with your life and you're not sitting dormant in a time at home."
With help from the Cleveland Foundation, Tri-C will create Pathways, a three-tiered program that will assist in planning for retirement, community engagements and expanding learning opportunities.
"We have an immense opportunity with the Successful Aging grant to really build some other components into our already good program and offer some new and exciting things," Dzigil said.
