Get Rid Of Wrinkles In 15 Minutes
New Laser Is Latest Breakthrough In Fight Against Aging
CLEVELAND -- It's pain-free and can eliminate age-related wrinkles in just 15 minutes.
As NewsChannel5 reports, the latest breakthrough in the fight against aging is a powerful laser. Forget going under the knife: Now all you have to do
is go under the light.
People are eternally fascinated with beauty and youth, but those traits don't last
forever.
"I've gotten to the point in my life where I'm noticing the lines
showing up, and I was just looking for some alternatives," one woman said.
The NLite laser could be a new revolution in wrinkle reduction. It's the first FDA-approved laser to treat wrinkles.
"The NLite travels through the outer layer of the skin, hits blood
vessels and stimulates your own collagen to grow," plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Shapiro said.
The light from the laser targets the tissue under the skin. It works in
what's called the dermis, or upper layer of skin, to promote new
collagen growth. The new collagen then fills in the depression under the
wrinkle, reducing the crease in the wrinkle surface.
"And these blood vessels are high up in the dermis, and you want a laser
that can pass through the outer layer without injuring it," Shapiro said. "That's why there's no crusting or scabbing. There's no changes in color at all with
this NLite."
Other lasers actually remove the outer layer of skin, and that means
recovery time, WEWS reports. With the NLite laser, it's not invasive, so it's
popular with busy women.
For some patients, it's a chance to stop the clock and put off major
procedures.
"My goal was not to go through major facelift surgery," NLite patient Pamela Holly said. "I wanted to try to get something done (where there) was no down time, and hopefully get results."
Patients should notice some improvement immediately, but it usually takes
about six weeks for wrinkles to completely disappear.
