Your Looks Can Sizzle Even In Sun
To apply makeup that doesn't feel like a mask, O'Neil suggests that you start with a lotion that has salicylic acid in it. That type of lotion will soak up oil, NewsChannel5's Barbara Meek reports in this week's Simplicity.
O'Neil also suggests that you skip the foundation and instead reach for the concealer.
"Start off by using a little bit of concealer right underneath the eye, above the cheekbone, lip and chin, and a little bit on the forehead to give it a highlighting effect," O'Neil said. "Keep in mind that you always want to work out and up."
O'Neil recommends dusting your face, including your eyelids, with powder.
She says that you should always use sponges and brushes -- never your fingers because they add oil, which can cause breakouts on your face.
To give your eye pencil staying power, O'Neil suggests brushing eye shadow over it.
She says that you should give your eyebrows a little color, apply one coat of anti-smudge mascara, use a lip pencil and gloss on your lips and finish with a hydrating mist.
For hair, a short cut is the best way to beat the heat, but use a lot of clips and pins if your hair is long.
