Police: 2-Year-Old Locked In Car While Mom Shops

21-Year-Old Charged With Child Endangering, Receiving Stolen Property

A northeast Ohio woman is behind bars Monday accused of leaving her 2-year-old son in the car while she shopped.

Gardner Tenisha Gardner, 21, was charged with child endangering and receiving stolen propterty.

Police said the incident happened Sunday at the Westlake Promenade.

A witness said that the child was unresponsive and dripping in sweat when found. The toddler was treated at a St. John West Shore Hospital and released to his grandmother.

Police are looking into packages left in the trunk of Gardner's car. Officers believe some of the items may have been stolen.

Gardner is expected in court Tuesday.
