CLEVELAND -- Looking for a few ideas for getaways? Melisse Gelula, the travel writer at Fodor's travel publication, has a few ideas.
According to NewsChannel5, Fodor's has come up with a list of what it considers the most overlooked and underrated vacation spots.
Canada's Quebec City, the lower Florida Keys and Tulsa, Okla., all have one thing in common.
"In any of these places, you can count on much fewer crowds and in most of the cases as well ... a smaller price tag because they are not overrun yet and they are not necessarily expecting you," said Melisse Gelula, Fodor's travel publications.
This is the second year that Fodor's has put out a list of undiscovered travel spots.
Quebec City is worth a visit because of it's European charm, the writer said.
The lower Florida Keys is a good destination because there are more wildlife and beaches than people and hotels.
Tulsa is also a good spot because of its unexpected blend of urban sophistication and Americana.
The place for families, however, listed as Chattanooga, Tenn.
"We are recommending it as a destination because it's inexpensive and because there are so many kid-friendly activities," Gelula said.
For a budget vacation, consider Oaxaca, Mexico. It's not a beach city but is lush and known for its art and cuisine.
Fodor's choice as the best value vacation is Dominica in the Caribbean. You probably will not get a break on airfare but once you get there.
"You get all the benefits of being in the Caribbean without a Caribbean price tag," Gelula said.
For romance, head to Oregon's wine country, like Napa in California, but without the crowds.
