NewsChannel5's Angie Lau reported that the Eastlake service was just one of many memorial services honoring victims of 9/11.

In many different ways, northeast Ohioans gave tribute and honor in their own way to those who are not here to remember.

Mozart's "Requiem" echoed throughout St. John's Cathedral, as more than 1,000 parishioners came to worship and remember.

"Help us, oh God, to stitch the human family back together in love and peace," said Bishop Anthony Pilla of the Cleveland Catholic Diocese.

The church bells tolled exactly one year to the minute that America came under attack.

People of many different religions, including Catholics, Buddhists, Jews, and Muslims, came today with remembrance and tribute Wednesday.

"Whatever we worship, we worship one God," said Imam Clyde Rahman, of Masjid Balil. "That means that we are one people. Instead of fighting, we should be talking, consulting."

Others commemorated the day in their own way. Bev Gans gave blood.

"I think 9/11 made us all aware that it could happen to any one of us at any time," she said.

One office closed down, and staff went to the food bank to volunteer.

"Well, we felt like we couldn't ignore today, and it wasn't business as usual today," said Howard Landau of Wyse Landau Public Relations. "(We) wanted to do something together as a team."

At Public Square, people gathered to celebrate America's resilience.

"We go on; we live," Dave Stevenson said.
